This past Tuesday, Robert Lang, the Edmonton broadcasting pioneer and safe-cracker extraordinaire came to our club and shared his incredible story with members and friends. The Club learned how Robert honed his craft and started his business. We also heard exciting safe cracking stories, including one where he neutralized a nitroglycerin riddled safe after an attempted robbery! He recounted amazing stories supporting the Edmonton police and helping banks. Robert also told us how he learned by experience how to maintain the clock now represented on the Rotary Whyte Ave logo! A fantastic presentation from a great storyteller and Rotarian, thank you Robert for joining us and thank you to everyone who made it out!

Having Fun and Making a Difference at Edmonton's Food Bank
This past Wednesday, Rotary Whyte Avenue members and friends rolled up their sleeves for a good cause! Since 1981, Edmonton's Food Bank has been providing food and services to empower individuals struggling with food security and poverty. Edmonton Whyte Ave Rotary helped out by bringing a large group to work in the warehouse. Tasks included sorting food, creating care packages, and of course having a great time! Thank you to the YEG Passport Club for coming out and supporting, to Community Services Chair Kristin for organizing, and for all the volunteers who made it out!
