When it comes to mental health issues, when one needs help, it needs to be answered immediately and at a cost one can afford. That is made possible by the 40  mental health therapists university students and community members volunteering their time days and evenings six days a week to serve the Edmonton community at the Walk-In Counselling Society of Edmonton (WICSOE).  Every day, Executive Director Kimberly Knull sees how much of a need there is for an anonymous space, an especially efficient model for men and teens often afraid of the stigma associated with reaching out for help. Located on Whyte Avenue just above the Millcreek Café and steps away from Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS), WISCOE was launched in 2013 as a continuation of The Support Network program which had been offering mental health services for 15 years in downtown Edmonton. Referrals and fundraising are two ways to help WICSOE.
