Nomination of Sheila Hawkins for Membership

A motion was presented to the Whyte Avenue Rotary Club on the nomination of Sheila Hawkins for membership into the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue. Sheila has been nominated by Marilyn Mucha under the classification of Financial Consulting/ Mortgage Advisory Credit Literacy. Her bio is below.
Like many financial advisors, after university Sheila started her career working with the bank. Not happy with what the large corporate institutions had to offer clients, she started her own company, with her goal to have time to work with clients to educate and guide them in a non-biased way helping them make the right decisions about their financial situation without product pressure.
Her experience is supported by her continuing educational focus, and is a Certified Financial Planner and Life Agent with 25 years of experience, and an Accredited Mortgage Professional with 20 years of experience.
In her free time, Sheila likes to spend time with her family (husband and 4 kids), play soccer, paint and is currently learning to sail and kite surf. She also loves to learn about different cultures and to travel with a purpose.
In accordance with our club bylaws (see 3.2.5 below), please indicate within seven days (7), by return email to the Club Secretary, Tim Onciul, if you have any knowledge that Sheila does not meet the Rotary Four-Way Test and you object to the admission of her as new member, or if you require additional information regarding this candidate.
3.2.5 If the Board does not receive a written objection from a Member in Good Standing to the admission of the prospective Active Member, stating the reasons for such objection, within seven (7) days following the publication of information about the prospective Active Member pursuant to section 3.2.4, the prospective Active Member shall be considered to be elected to membership.
