Last Tuesday, we had a very special visit from Ulrike Thomas of CARE Canada. Now in its 70th year, CARE began by delivering emergency relief “CARE Packages” to the people of Europe following WWII. Over the years, CARE’s work has expanded as it addresses the world’s most threatening problems. Today, CARE has grown into one of the world’s largest private humanitarian and development organizations, reaching millions of people in over 80 countries around the world. CARE helps strengthen communities through an array of programs that work to create lasting solutions to roots causes of poverty.

Ulrike gave us an idea on what CARE projects are happening worldwide and how Rotary can help further their efforts. She also shared her amazing personal story of journey, discovery and experiences in a wide variety of cultures.
