This week we had Global Grant Scholar Kassia Fardoe as our speaker. Kassia was studying at the London School of Economics where she worked to complete her Master of Science in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies. Kassia is passionate about animals and wildlife conservationism and she has focused that passion by examining the neo-colonial behaviours of conservationists in her dissertation. We were interested to hear about her experience living in London and her studies, including a project that looked at using drones for humanitarian responses. We also heard about the challenges she faced trying to complete her studies in the middle of a pandemic, such as having to attend seminars with a 7-hour time difference! Multiple Rotary clubs collaborated to make this scholarship happen and our club is proud to have been one of the clubs that helped support Kassia's Global Grant Scholarship. Best of luck in your future endeavours Kassia.
