Skills Society Stocking Stuffers volunteer event

The Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue is collecting stocking stuffer donations in support of the Skills Society and we need your help!

The Skills Society provides support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities, survivors of acquired brain injury, and their families. Your donations will go towards holiday stockings for people supported by their Outreach Program.

What can you donate for the stockings?  Donations can include:

  • Chocolates or other holiday treats (candy canes, mints, etc.);
  • Clothing (socks and underwear or winter gear such as mitts and tukes);
  • Toiletries (toothpaste, floss, toothbrushes, etc.);
  • The stockings themselves (to hold the donations);
  • Kleenex;
  • Gum;
  • Lip balm;
  • Makeup products;
  • Gift cards;
  • Stationary (pens, etc.);
  • Christmas or holiday related items (Christmas tree decorations, etc.);
  • Monetary donations (to go towards the purchasing of stocking stuffers);
  • Any other suggested donation items? Let us know!

When is it needed by? It would be appreciated if we can have all the donations before Thursday, December 5th.

How to donate: If you have a donation, please contact Paige. You can also bring your donated items to one of our Tuesday Rotary meetings or contact Paige or Kevin to have them picked up.

Last year, these stockings were greatly valued by the people supported by the Skills Society and for some it may be the only gift they receive at Christmas time so thank you to everyone who can help!
