One of the best ways to strengthen our Club and build member potential is to give members the tools and skills to be even better Rotarians! With this in mind, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue has developed the New Club Leadership Development Program! Through this program, interested members will be supported to learn and run a regularly scheduled Rotary meeting. Running a meeting includes: -Opening and closing the meeting - Preparing a PowerPoint presentation (PowerPoint template will be shared) - Moderating questions to the presenter -Help setting up the meeting - Presenting the 'Thank you' present to the the presenter (if applicable). By taking part in this program, you will be able to strengthen your presenting and interpersonal skills, gather a great understanding of Rotary and meeting processes, and play an essential role in support of the club.
Rotary Members can sign up for a meeting or learn more by contacting club President Kevin (kggmcleod@hotmail.com).

Hello everyone! In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, support from our club is needed more than ever! We had originally planned a communual night of cooking on March 31st - instead we are going to individually make meals for the the thirteen folks living at Melcor Village, who are supported by the Skills Society. I am asking 8-12 members of our club to make 13 individually portioned meals to be ready for pick-up on the evening of Tuesday March 31st. Please have your meals packaged in either dispoable or reusable individual containers (new containers please). I will then deliever the pre-packaged meals to Skills Society for freezing (you can pass your meals to me either having been refrigerated or frozen). The health of our members and the folks we support is of utmost importance. Please do not sign up or make meals if you (or a loved one in your home) are feeling under the weather (whether you have been tested for COVID-19 or not). If you sign up to cook a meal, and become symptomatic of illness, please be in contact with me and we can find you a replacement. Of the 13 people whom we are meal prepping for, 2 of the individuals are living with diabetes. Please be concise of making your meal 'heart healthy' with reduced sugar content. If you need help meal planning, please don't hesitate to reach out! There are no other allergies or food intolerances to be aware of for meal preparation. I will be in touch with each of the volunteers to arange pick-up times on the evening of the 31st. The Edmonton Food Bank is short of funds and food, so our meal support is appreciated by many! If you are looking for additional ways to support the Food Bank, please consider donating at: https://www.edmontonsfoodbank.com/ways-give/give-money/ Thank you! |
