DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone!  There is an ever-pressing need to support our
community partners in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Our two previous ma
keahead meal events were so well received so we are organizing another one
! Again\, we are going to individually make meals for the the thirteen fol
ks living at Melcor YMCA Village\, who are supported by the Skills Society
.  I am asking 8-12 members of our club to make 13 individually portioned
meals to be ready for pick-up on the evening of Monday\, May 4th. Please
have your meals packaged in either dispoable or reusable individual contai
ners (new containers please). Please package your meals in microwave-safe
containers. I will then deliever the pre-packaged meals to Skills Society
for freezing (you can pass your meals to me either having been refrigerate
d or frozen). Please label your containers with the name of the meal and d
ate made.  The health of our members and the folks we support is of utmos
t importance. Please do not sign up or make meals if you (or a loved one i
n your home) are feeling under the weather (whether you have been tested f
or COVID-19 or not). If you sign up to cook a meal\, and become symptomati
c of illness\, please be in contact with me and we can find you a replacem
ent.  Please make sure to follow hand hygiene practices when shopping\, p
repping and packing your meals - let's all do our part to minimize the ris
k of spread of disease.  Of the 13 people whom we are meal prepping for\,
2 of the individuals are living with diabetes. Please be concise of makin
g your meal 'heart healthy' with reduced sugar content. If you need help m
eal planning\, please don't hesitate to reach out! There are no other alle
rgies or food intolerances to be aware of for meal preparation.  If you w
ant to support this initiative but are unable to cook or bake meals\, plea
se reach out to me and we can figure out where your efforts are best suite
 d.  I will be in touch with each of the volunteers to arange pick-up time
s on the evening of May 4th.  The Edmonton Food Bank is short of funds an
d food\, so our meal support is appreciated by many! If you are looking fo
r additional ways to support the Food Bank\, please consider donating at:
