DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone!  There is an ever-pressing need to support our
community partners in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Our makeahead meal
event on Mar 31st was such a success\, we are organizing another one! Agai
n\, we are going to individually make meals for the the thirteen folks liv
ing at Melcor YMCA Village\, who are supported by the Skills Society.  I
am asking 8-12 members of our club to make 13 individually portioned meals
to be ready for pick-up on the evening of Monday\, April 30th. Please hav
e your meals packaged in either dispoable or reusable individual container
s (new containers please). Please package your meals in microwave-safe con
tainers. I will then deliever the pre-packaged meals to Skills Society for
freezing (you can pass your meals to me either having been refrigerated o
r frozen). Please label your containers with the name of the meal and date
made.  The health of our members and the folks we support is of utmost i
mportance. Please do not sign up or make meals if you (or a loved one in y
our home) are feeling under the weather (whether you have been tested for
COVID-19 or not). If you sign up to cook a meal\, and become symptomatic o
f illness\, please be in contact with me and we can find you a replacement
.  Please make sure to follow hand hygiene practices when shopping\, prep
ping and packing your meals - let's all do our part to minimize the risk o
f spread of disease.  Of the 13 people whom we are meal prepping for\, 2
of the individuals are living with diabetes. Please be concise of making y
our meal 'heart healthy' with reduced sugar content. If you need help meal
planning\, please don't hesitate to reach out! There are no other allergi
es or food intolerances to be aware of for meal preparation.  If you want
to support this initiative but are unable to cook or bake meals\, please
reach out to me and we can figure out where your efforts are best suited.
I will be in touch with each of the volunteers to arange pick-up times
on the evening of April 20th.  The Edmonton Food Bank is short of funds a
nd food\, so our meal support is appreciated by many! If you are looking f
or additional ways to support the Food Bank\, please consider donating at:
