Support for Ukraine - Rotary Club of Chicago Lakeview Fundraiser
In response to the deepening humanitarian crisis, the Rotary Club of Chicago Lakeview is raising funds for the purchase of medical equipment to support relief efforts in Ukraine. In partnership with the Rotary Club of Chicago Lithuanians and District 146, our club is matching up to $1,000 in overall contributions that will directly support the purchase of medical first aid equipment and other medical materials.
The Rotary Club of Chicago Lithuanians has identified these needs by communicating directly with Ukrainian physicians and have worked with local organizations to deliver them to hospitals acting as distribution centers in Ukraine. They have been able to deliver two trucks of humanitarian support in the first week of March and have been sending supplies on a weekly basis. With the humanitarian and refugee crises worsening by the day, these efforts offer us an opportunity to directly support medical needs on-the-ground.
In the first days of the relief efforts, over $75K was raised to support these efforts by more than 128 individuals and legal entities. The funds that we raise will go towards the purchase of the following items:
- Pain analgesics, medicines for wound treatment and treatment
- Bands, medical gauze, bandages, patches, surgical sutures
- Bleeding turnstiles
- Intravenous systems, syringes, catheters
