Stephen Swan told us about his year in Germany as a
Rotary Exchange Student, when he spoke to us on Thursday, June 16. He
attended high school on his Rotary scholarship in Delmenhorst,West
German, just outside Bremen. There he lived with three different
Rotary families, of varied socio-economic backgrounds. It was an
eye-opening year for him, and changed the way he looks at the world.
Those lessons inform his life, even today. After graduating from
college with majors in German and Philosophy, he returned to university
in Bonn, Germany for an additional year of study in the same subjects.
After seven years in the information technology field, he now owns his own company, Util IT, has a wife and two children, and is a prospective member of our club.
