Events

The team behind the Printers Row Lit Fest is working hard to bring the city of Chicago another amazing literary event, but needs volunteers!  There are two volunteer options for this event.  There is a general volunteer opportunity for various posts at th event.  If you are interested in a general volunteer please see the details and registration link below.  There is also a Rotary specific volunteer option.  Rotary wil have a table at the event which will allow members to spread the good word about Rotary and all we do in our communities.  If you are interested in volunteering at the Rotary table please email Angelica Sanchez.  Attached is the current schedule of volunteers for the table.

1) The shifts are for full days - 9:30 am - 6pm
2) Free lunch and t-shirts will be provided
3) Assignments will be shared and sent out 10-12 days prior to the event
4) There will be an optional Zoom training session for new or returning volunteers the week leading up to the event

• We are looking for up to 16 volunteers to help out with the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce's 36th Annual Apple Fest!  Apple Fest is a long standing tradition in Lincoln Square, bringing community together to celebrate the beginning of autumn.

  Volunteers will help serve beverages and check IDs.  There are a total of four shifts with four volunteers needed per shift.

Rotary Club of Chicago Lakeview

Up to 10 volunteers are needed for the Meals from the Heart program for Comer Children's Hospital.

Families staying at a Ronald McDonald House or Family Room are often far from the comforts of home, including freshly prepared meals. Meals from the Heart provides meals for families, allowing them to eat together without the stress of cooking or the expense of dining out.

• What does my group need to bring? Participants must wear closed-toed shoes, bring a hair tie (if needed), and supply all the groceries/ingredients to prepare your meal. RMHC-CNI provides gloves, hairnets and all kitchen equipment.

• Who can volunteer in my group? All volunteers must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age, and groups must have at least one adult (18+) present and participating for every three minors. Groups can have up to eight total volunteers, and everyone needs to be entirely illness/symptom-free for at least 72 hours before participating.

• Who are we cooking for, and can we start preparations at home? Plan to cook for 20 people. You will have two and a half hours to prep and cook food at the House, so plan your menu accordingly. All food must be prepared on-site unless coming from a commercial kitchen, and everything must be unopened and unaltered when you bring it to the House.

• Where is the House and can we park there? RMH near Comer is located at 5444 S. Drexel Ave., Chicago, IL 60615. Street parking is readily available, as is parking to the rear of the building. Signs will indicate that parking is intended for Ronald McDonald House.
