Hello Rotarians
Our club will be partnering with Rise Against Hunger to package over 10,000 meals to be distributed globally to places in need. Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world's most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030. The assembly process combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages. These meal packages are shipped around the world to support school feeding programs and crisis relief. The food stores easily, transports quickly and has a shelf-life of two years.
The event will be at the Nettelhorst School in Lakeview on June 15, 2019. The entire project will take place from 9 am until 2 pm, which includes three different shifts for helping.
For the morning shift (9 am to 11 am) we will need 6-10 volunteers to help unload the food truck and set up for the packaging. After the set up, we will need the most amount of volunteers for the actual packaging process (11:00 am to 1:00 pm). Finally, we will need a few volunteers to stay behind after the packaging is complete to help break down and clean up (1:00 to 2:00 pm).
Provided below is a link to the registration. Please select which shift or shifts work best for you. Friends and family members are welcome to join, but please complete a registration for each volunteer attending the event.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
