SPEAKER FOR THURSDAY THE 19TH

Mike Peterson, our speaker is from "Out on a Limb"  he is an arborist, a member of the NE Arborists Association and helps customers with the following;

  1. Tree selection, planting and trans planting
  2. Tree and stump removal
  3. Tree maintenance and pruning
  4. Tree inspection, preservation & appraisal

WDC Rotary Club
Meeting Minutes 4/12/18  (This reported was edited by Ron using last weeks report by our Secretary)
We were led in prayer and pledge by Julie Seidl
We were honored with visiting Rotarian Fr. Lloyd Gnirk from Downtown Rotary and Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Valley)
Treasurers report:  Rita reported a balance of $2,073.75 in the bank.
 
Badge Award:  As shown in the photo below, President Mike awarded Julie her official WDC Badge
 
Other announcements/discussion:
The Rotary Golf Outing, which provides the funding for the scholarships, is set for July 9th at The Pines.Put together your fearsome foursome!
Gail announced his wedding anniversary was April 16 and not April 18 as shown in the bulletin, which to this writer is excellant that at least one person is reading the bulletin.
Jim reported on last weeks lunch bunch - It seem as heard in the back of room that the attendance was slightly less than usual.
President Mike commented on the great scholarship banquet last Thursday and presented a "KUDO" to Chef Rex Moats.
Also reported was feedback from the Rotary Youth Leadership that we financially supported for two attendees from the WDC area.
Council Bluffs noon club is sponsoring at Poker tournament on April 28  (see photo  of their flyer on the event below in  this  bulletin )
Today’s Presentation:   Dave Ciavarella, DLR Gr- Topic was sports architecture.  Dave was introduced by our member Curtis Johnson who is also affiliated with the DLR Group.  Dave is a graduate of Cozad High School where he also participated in various high school sports.  He  has degree and masters degree in Architecture from UN-L.  He lives in the Papillion with his wife and children.  (See picture below of Curtis and Dave below)
 
Dave gave a nice slide presentation on some of his projects at UN-L in Nebraska and other states where he has designed various types of athletic facilities such as team lockers, stadiums, sports medicine and practice facilites.
 
 
Finally:  Gail DID NOT WIN THIS WEEK NOR DID HE WIN LAST WEEK!  Gail did donate some fishing tackle and several members won some extra fish hooks.
