SPEAKER FOR THURSDAY - MAR 21

Meaghan Fitzgerald Walls is the President and CEO of Assistology, LLC, in Omaha, Nebraska. She founded Assistology to address an unmet need in the Midwest to provide Assistive Technology (AT), Rehab Engineering and Universal Design consultation services to help individuals reach their goals and help businesses increase their ability to create inclusive spaces, services, products and practices.

Meaghan is a certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) who holds a Master of Science in Bioengineering with an emphasis on Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology from the University of Illinois-Chicago under a 2 year Rehab Technology Fellowship. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana.

Recently, she also co-founded a non-profit organization, Imagine Inclusion, which has a mission to provide education, training and consultation that offers programs and supports projects that have a wide impact to benefit the members of our communities through increased awareness, and improved inclusiveness and accessibility opportunities.

With regard to the presentation.

The reveal of the project is kind of the highlight, so I don't want to give it away. But you could say:

"Meaghan uses her expertise to support the Imagine Inclusion mission and is here to share the information about their current project which will have a significant community impact for West Omaha and surrounding communities. "

PRESIDENT JUDY
Here are my notes for the newsletter:

Finally!  I think spring is coming.  I have seen robins, red-wing blackbirds, and lots of geese so spring has to be right around the corner.

I’m sure you will be reading more about this later in the newsletter.  However, I also want to highlight Dr. Lee Simmons will be our speaker on March 28th.  I would encourage each of you to bring at least one guest to this meeting.

With all of the folks negatively impacted by the flooding this past week, perhaps we could think about ways we could help our fellow Rotarians, friends, and neighbors.  Let’s talk about this at our meeting on Thursday.

If you would like to enjoy the upcoming Burlington Capital International Omaha event on April 4-7 at the CHI, visit their website at www.internationalomaha.com for event and ticket information.

TEMPORARY EDITOR'S NOTES
JUST A FEW NOTES FROM THE HOVEL ON 174TH STREET:

Called Del Morgan this morning (3-19) to offer him a ride to the Dr. Lee Simmons program at our club on Thursday the 28th (I understand there will be discussion at this Thursday's meeting about inviting guest and relatives to the Dr. Simmons presentation).  Del informed me that he is moving to a new residence across the street from his current address.  He declined my offer because of his physical condition involving balance and declining leg strength.  DEL SENT HIS GREETINGS TO ALL OUR MEMBERS.

Received a copy of a letter from Rotary looking for a club in our District that has a 501(c)3 status that would be able to receive donations from other Rotary Clubs in the country wanting to help with our current flood disaster.  That is a works in progress, for sure.  I hope this newsletter finds Duane Prorok in good, dry condition.

Boy, do I miss Jasmine at the meetings and hope she is healing well.  She brought SPARKLE to our meetings (I suppose it should be said we miss Rex as well).  Who else hasn't graced our table lately?  Jack Ott could be counted as one.  I might miss a few because my own attendance has been sort of spotty until the last few weeks.

Get well Jasmine!
