Meeting Minutes 11/21/19
We were led in prayer and pledge by your's truly.
We had 16 members and visitor Larry was again able join us.
Treasurer's Report:
Rita reported $5,883.83 in the general fund.
Announcements/Discussion:
* Holiday meeting schedule: President Judy reminded that our club will not meet on 11/28 (Thanksgiving); 12/26 (day after Christmas); or 1/2/20 (day after New Year's Day).
- Club Christmas Party: The EPS Foundation building reception room has been reserved for December 19th (6-8 pm). A show of hands was taken to gauge a headcount . Tod (committee chair) asked for ideas about food options and beverages. Plans will be finalized and shared soon.
- Salvation Army Bell Ringers: Jim passed the signup sheet around again for bell ringing on November 25, 26 & 27. Members could email him to select a time.
- Please note that Ron Mortensen is presently at Old Mill Rehabilitation 1131 Papillion Parkway, Omaha NE 68154.
- The motion was made, seconded, and passed, to again support the West Omaha Chamber/COPE food basket program with a $500 donation. Opportunities to individually help will also be brought up at future meetings.
- NO MEETING THIS THURSDAY. IT"S THANKSGIVING! And just remember as you enjoy that turkey...you are what you eat :)

Colonel John D. Folsom, USMCR is the founder and president of Wounded Warriors Family Support, a Nebraska non-profit corporation. Wounded Warriors Family Support provides valuable assistance to families of those who have been injured, wounded or killed during combat operations.
Throughout his reserve service, Colonel Folsom has held numerous high level assignments that included working policy issues in support of the Marine Forces, Pacific and as an operations planner for northeast Asia while assigned to U.S. Pacific Command. Immediately after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Colonel Folsom was recalled to active duty and assigned to Marine Forces, Pacific until his release from active duty in August, 2002.
Wounded Warriors Family Support began as a “pass the hat” initiative by Colonel Folsom on March 20, 2003 and with the initial $1,500 collected, he purchased items for the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, the first stop for U.S. armed forces personnel evacuated from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Colonel Folsom’s military decorations include the Navy-Marine Corps Medal for heroism, the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service medals awarded for his meritorious service in support of Operation “Iraqi Freedom”.
He resides in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife Cate, son Jack and daughter Anna.
