ROTARY GOLF OUTING Please continue to work on gettng teams, hole sponsors and door prizes for the Reotary Scholarship Golf Outing, July 13th. We have several teams already but it takes at leasst 12 teams and 15 hole sponsors for us to make enough money to pay for the 3 scholarships we have already awarded. Any additional money would be nice to have to do other community service projects in the area. If you have any questions please call Jim Tomanek at 402-669-1019

The meeting was MC'd by our club President Robert Worley. In attendance and speaking to us were several District officials, including Brian Moon, current District Governor, Rod Bates, incoming District Governor, Lyn Ramsey, our founding president, and Gary Bren, District Governor nominee for 2016-2017. One observation made by one of the speakers is that the Elkhorn area is growing and there is an opportunity presented for our club to grow with the area. Our club was honored also by the attendance of Susan Thomas, president of Omaha West, Roxy Orr, president of Omaha Suburban Club and area governor, Madeline Madden. Highlights including the awarding of 25 year pins to charter members, plus Bob Worley and Duane Prorok who joined later in the first year of the club. Missing from the ceremony was charter member Gail Stalder, who is suspected by being on a fishing trip in South Dakota. Our founding sponsor from the Omaha West Club Don Klein expressed his gratitude for all the friendships he has been blessed with during his Rotary career which is still continuing

The meeting concluded promptly at 8:10 AM.for a slice of Jim's cake.

The subject of the speaker from HyVee on June 25th will be Nebraska HyVee Stores Partner with Food Recycling Company to Reduce Waste
Nebraska HyVee stores wil divert excess fruits and vegetables, bakery products, solid dairy products and floral clippings with the help of the Sanimax System, which will then turn the food wastes into compost, biogas and animal feed. HyVee employees at each store will be trained on how to separate the waste to ensure quick and accurate disposal. As part of the program HyVee stores will sell compost that is created by their own food recycling. In addition,stores with community gardens will use the compost to fertilize their plots.
