President's Message

Greetings Rotarians!

It was great to have such a good turnout at last week's meeting ... plus Bob brought green donuts! On March 17th I participated in the monthly President's Zoom conference with the District Governor. We were again recognized for our in-person-hybrid meetings and ongoing support of the DC West Food Basket project. Thanks to all those that have been able to volunteer! District 5650 is again providing matching grants for clubs ... similar to our bicycle project for OPD last fall. Let me know if anyone has any ideas for this upcoming Rotary year. This week's guest speaker will be Bary Habrock, Superintendent of Schools for Elkhorn. Bary will update us on how the Elkhorn Schools continue to navigate through the school year and discuss the protocols required to maintain their in-person classes and activities.

3/18/21 Meeting Notes

Bank Balance: $4,139.25 (payment made to Club Runner and to The Pines, for our July golf outing)

District Grant Seminars: To be conducted virtually in April ... two volunteers are needed

Guest Speaker: Charles Olson (OCI). OCI was founded as a family-owned employee benefits insurance company and now includes a staff of seventy-five. Charles provided insight into the history and growth of OCI, to include their focus on customer service and the characteristics of their ideal employee (be Humble, Hungry and Smart). He also emphasized their motto of "Insurance Made Simple" and how every employee needs to have emotional intelligence in order for the company to continually Serve, Grow and Retain (the best). Charles' father, brother and sister are all part of OCI's leadership team.
