Greetings Rotarians and Friends of Rotary ... Thanks to Tom McShane, our guest speaker last week. Many of us remember when OPPD built the Ft. Calhoun nuclear plant and it was interesting to see how it has transitioned over the years. This week, Rex Moats will be providing a slide presentation about their trip to Hawaii, to include visits to Pearl Harbor and an aircraft carrier. Lunch will be provided. Tonight (Tuesday) is District 5650's annual meeting. Official action will be taken on the '23-24 budget, selection of our new District Governor (Katherine Schubert) and other Rotary "business" (I will be our club's voting delegate). Tomorrow (Wednesday) is our monthly DC West Food Pantry distribution event ... this is a good opportunity to volunteer and help our club gain visibility within the Western Douglas County community. Don't forget that yearly membership dues are to be paid this month ... checks should be made out to Western Douglas County Rotary. We have also requested that members contribute to our $100/month commitment to COPE, to support the purchase of meat products for the DC West Food Pantry. One last reminder ... our annual 25th Annual Scholarship Golf fund-raiser is July 17 ... please continue to support this event and get your registration and sponsorship checks to Mike Ough, as soon as possible. Thanks ... See you tomorrow or Thursday! Tod |
