Hello, Fellow Rotarians!

It’s hard to believe that this Rotary year is almost over.  As a club, we have worked on several projects:

  • Scholarships given to three high seniors.
  • We collected several boxes of items for the New Beginnings Bags for last year’s district conference.
  • We collected backpacks and school supplies for COPE.
  • We donated money so a bicycle could be purchased for a young man.
  • We donated to and participated in the food drive with the West O Chamber.
  • We collected toys for COPE.
  • We rang bells for the Salvation Army. 

 

In addition, we have donated to several non-profits and to the Rotary Foundation.  Way to go, Club!

MINUTES OF MAY 30 MEETING

WDC Rotary Club
Meeting Minutes 5/30/19
We were led in prayer and pledge by Dave Rosacker
We had 14 members present and once again welcomed Larry back as our guest with a resounding, “Hi Larry!” 
Treasurer’s report:  Rollie filled in for Rita and reported a balance of $4,673 in the general fund.   
Dick Krueger shared his member moment.  He also revealed that he has visited all 50 states and has photographic proof of this!  Perhaps we can convince him to put together a slide show presentation for an upcoming meeting!    
Announcements/discussion:
  • As of this writing, we need a 6/8 speaker.      
  • The Rotary Scholarship Golf Outing is now just 3 weeks away on June 17th.   
  • Jim reported that COPE is still in search of a permanent home. 
  • Remember Elkhorn Days next weekend June 7-9
  • For your calendar:  We will not have a meeting on 6/20 due to the golf event that week or on 7/4 due to the holiday.
Presentation: 
Rollie introduced Rob Robinson of Rob-See-Co.   Rob shared the journey of his family’s business, which began in 1888.  He told many interesting stories of how the company reinvented itself several times throughout its historic run and what Rob-See-Co is doing now to succeed in a very competitive marketplace.

JUNE 17 WDC GOLF AT THE PINES

Every member is expected to participate in at least one of the following:
1.  Play in June 17 outing 
2.  Sign up four-member team
3.  Volunteer to help June 17
4.  Sponsor a $100 hole
5.  Sign up a $100 hole sponsor 
6.  Provide an extra pin/raffle prize
Also, $20 raffle tickets will soon be give to each member to buy or sell.

Reminder:  We only have two meetings between now and the golf event. Not much time for members to bring golf drawing “prizes” to meetings. Prizes could be sleeves of golf balls, bottles of wine, golf hats, golf towels, etc.
