Business Meeting:
In lieu of the presentation, President Mike initiated a business meeting for the club to consider various ways that we can increase revenue and/or reduce expenses. Several suggestions were made and discussed.
Rita pointed out, that of the $200 in annual dues, just $38.43 stays at the club level. She also estimated that after the past 10 months, the club is running at an approximate $500 annual deficit thus far.
After several minutes of discussion, the motion was made, seconded and passed that the annual club dues be increased from $200 to $220 for this next fiscal year, beginning in July. The new dues notices will be prepared within the next few weeks.
Motions made but not passing:
- $5 fee for every meeting, regardless of purchasing a meal or coffee.
- Negotiate a lower cost with The Pines CC for the golf outing
- Send less than $50 per member to the Rotary Foundation
- Increase the split the pot entry to $5
The club member’s participation in the golf outing fundraiser was also discussed. It was strongly encouraged that all members participate at some level, i.e., as a player,, as a hole sponsor, purchasing raffle tickets, as a promoter of the event to get additional sponsors from outside of the club.
