After a tasty HyVee breakfast, arranged by Chef Rex Moats, Steve Kucirek gave the invocation and lead us in the pledge of allegiance. Visiting Rotarian from Suburban Club and WDC Backup Speaker, Eric Stueckrath was introduced and greeted with a hearty HI ERIC! Treasurer Rita reported a check book balance of $5,724.76. Secretary Ron reported that he would be taking attendance at the meetings herewith (until he gets tired of recording the information in Club Runner). Rex Moats was praised for his excellent set up for last weeks Scholarship Award Breakfast. Jim reported on the Wednesday, April 12th Lunch Bunch at Shevvy's. Jim also reported on forthcoming COPE Golf Event on May 5th. See Jim for registration forms as May 5 isn't far away. Doug Cunningham received the coveted WDC Rotary Badge, presented by President Dan. Jeanne Weaver introduced our speaker for the day, her Law School Classmate: Sally Bisson from The College of St Mary. |
Jeanne Weaver introduced her long-time friend, Sally Bisson, Professor at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha. Jeanne said that they were law school classmates at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. (Jeanne said they were suspected of being partners in various forms of mischief of sorts) Sally is a professor of paralegal studies at the College of St. Mary. Her subject was Doris Stevens from Omaha the and her activities as a suffragette in the early 1900's.
