Greetings Rotarians! Thanks to Roger for providing his Hawaiian travelogue and slide show last week ... it appears that the best way to really enjoy Hawaii is to have your camera and a Mai Tai in hand at all times! If anyone else has a winter get-away trip to share, let Neil know. Tomorrow is scholarship interview day, so we will be having an abbreviated "Coffee and Conversation" meeting. Thanks to Jim, Neil and Steve for coordinating and conducting the DC West interviews and to Rita and Mike for assisting with the three Elkhorn high schools. In addition to our normal agenda items, we want to discuss Rotary's humanitarian relief efforts in the Ukraine. Last Sunday evening, Carol Horner called an emergency Zoom meeting of all District President's. The purpose was to expedite the effort to raise money and to simultaneously obtain and transport medical supplies that will be air-lifted to Poland and on to the Ukraine. Ten Rotary District's have committed to raising $250,000 towards the air-lift effort. Last week, our club voted to donate $200 to the cause and we had three Rotarians pledge matching donations. I hope that we can raise another $200 or more, so that we can surpass $1,000 from our club. More on this later ... Thanks ... see you tomorrow! Tod |
