WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT
It was great to see everyone at our meeting last week after not having meetings over the holidays.  As we have talked about, one of the district goals this year is to increase membership.  While Rotary membership is increasing in other parts of the world, it is decreasing in the US.  One of the ways each of us can promote Rotary is to talk about it to the people we meet.  Tell what Rotary means to you, why you joined, why you continue to be a member, and the benefits of membership.  The Rotary International website lists some benefits of membership, including:
  • Discuss your community’s needs and develop creative ways to meet them.
  • Connect with other leaders who are changing the world.
  • Expand your leadership and professional skills.
  • Catch up with good friends and meet new ones.

Let’s promote Rotary!
In case you missed it, here is the story on Ron Mortensen.  He was truly a humble man and great Rotarian.
