Thank you to fellow Rotarian, Dave Holmquist, for speaking with us on Thursday, Dec. 22nd. Dave is the newly appointed State President of AARP Nebraska. http://local.aarp.org/lincoln-ne/ He spoke to us about the history of AARP and their current efforts to recruit individuals ages 50-64. The state office is located in Lincoln, NE and there is an info center in Omaha at The Center Mall, open M-F 10-4 to provide information and answer questions. AARP provides many programs and services including a Driver Safety Program, Car Fit Program, Home Fit Program, Tax Aid Program, Fraud Watch, and many more. They also organize social events for members such as "Movies for GrownUps" - free movie showings in Omaha. Thank you, Dave!
