President's Message

Greetings Rotarians!

Due to the extremely-cold weather conditions expected again tomorrow morning, our leadership team has recommended that we go "Zoom only" for our meeting. Since we don't have an in-person speaker available, we decided to forgo our normal "Zoom" business meeting and switch to a 12:00 noon presentation, sponsored by the Suburban Club of Omaha. Their guest speaker will be Rotary International's Polio-Plus Chairman, Mike McGovern.  This is an opportunity to hear from one of Rotary International's primary leaders and learn more about how RI has been dealing with COVID and still addressing our world-wide mission of eliminating polio throughout the world.  I hope that everyone can participate in this event ... Thanks, Tod

Here is the Zoom Meeting link (it should be active around 12:00 noon on Thursday).

Thanks!

Tod

Guest Speaker:  Melinda Sommerfeld, President of the Elkhorn Library Foundation.

Melinda provided an in-depth discussion of the mission of the Elkhorn Public Library Foundation ... "to engage, promote and partner with the Elkhorn community to support and enrich lifelong learning".  The Foundation does this through several community outreach programs, their Lifelong Learner Scholarship and their new "Free Little Libraries" initiative.  Sine 2015, the Foundation has partnered with Womenade of Elkhorn and Bids 4 Kids, donating over 1,200 books to children in need in the Elkhorn area.  The Foundation Board is primarily comprised of Elkhorn area volunteers who actively support the Bess Johnson Branch Library, now part of the greater Omaha Library system.
