Greetings Rotarians!
Thanks again to Neil for arranging last week's guest speaker, Jeff Beckman, from the Salvation Army and a warm welcome to our "stop-in" guest, Justin Nabity.
This week's guest speaker will be former DG, Roxy Orr. Roxy will be presenting our club with a Rotary International citation and she will also present a short video on "Empowering the Girl". I hope that everyone can attend ... this will be our last regular meeting until after the holidays.
* Important Reminder ... the Western Douglas County Food Drive is this week ...
- Thursday ... Pick up food from Elkhorn, Bennington and DC West Schools. This is a big undertaking and volunteers with pickup trucks are needed. Contact Neil or Jim
- Friday ... Sort and pack food for distribution (Bethany Lutheran at 9:00 AM and DC West Elementary at 2:00 PM). Extra food will be delivered to COPE ... several volunteers are needed at all locations
- Saturday ... Deliver food baskets to needy COPE families ... contact Jim T

- Overall Balance: $9,624.36.36 ($800.00 donated to WDC Food Drive); Grants Account: $23.12
- Rotary International: Second-Half Semi-Annual Dues to be paid in January 2022 (~ $930.00)
- District 5650: 2021 Annual Dues have been paid ($800.00)
- Polio Plus 2021 Donations: $650
District 5650: Next District President's meeting: December 20th (ZOOM); WDC President-Elect for 2022 is needed!
Old/New Business: Future Meeting Dates and Volunteer needs were discussed for WDC Food Drive (Dec. 16, 17 & 18)
Future Meetings: Dec. 16 (DG Roxy Orr); Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 (No Meeting - Holiday Break); Jan. 6 & 13 (TBD)
Fines (Neil): Several fines were collected
Speaker of the Day: Jeff Beckman (Executive Director of Development, Salvation Army Western Division). After being with Nebraska public broadcasting (formerly NET, now Nebraska Public Media), Jeff has been with the Salvation Army for 7 years, leading their private fund-raising teams (35 Community Centers). The Western Division (Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota) is the second largest in the US ... only Alaska is bigger. World-wide, the Salvation Army is a "Faith-Based" non-profit organization that now operates in 130 countries.
