President's Message

Greetings Rotarians!

Today is the DC West Food Basket distribution ... hopefully we can have a good showing of volunteers.  Tomorrow our guest speaker will be former FBI agent, Don Newly ... the Zoom link was sent out yesterday, for those that can't attend in person.  Last week Mike Ough provided a couple of Golf Outing flyers so that everyone can use them to recruit teams, sponsors and to plan for the event (July 19th).

See you Thursday!

Tod

Minutes from March 4th meeting:

Attendance - 12 members in person, 2 on Zoom (plus Larry J)  and our guest speaker, Mike Stodden.

Bank Balance: $4,782.84

Upcoming Events / Meetings:  March 10th - DC West Food Basket; March 11 - FBI agent (Don Newly); March 18 - OCI (Charles Olsen).  Scholarship Interviews: Tentatively scheduled for March 25th (Tod, Mike & Rita) for Elkhorn and Elkhorn South; DC West to be scheduled in the future (Jim and Neil)

Guest Speaker (Mike Stodden):  Mike provided an interesting overview of how COVID-19 has affected his physical therapy business, especially the problems faced by workers and students dealing with remote work or remote learning situations.  Students that have attended classes in person are much more likely to stay in shape, primarily through their participation in sports.  Home-based workers that do not have ergonomic chairs have seen increased problems associated with the back, spine, neck or nerves.  Since student access to storage lockers has been eliminated at most schools, students are required to carry all of their books and laptops in back-backs ... magnifying problems with poor posture.  Mike concluded his presentation with demonstrating a few simple stretching exercises to help improve our overall flexibility.
