NOTES SINCE JULY 6 - OUR LAST MEETING 1. Our Golf Event was held at the Pines in Valley on Monday the 10th. Once again Jim Tomanek has lead us through that great fund raiser. 2. ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FLASH: The International Rotary President-Elect passed away only a few weeks into his term of Office. He was from Uganda in Africa. 3. Our speaker last meeting, Past Senator Loren Schmidt of Bellwood, gave us an interesting history of the growth of the Ethanol Industry of Nebraska since 1974 and his personal participation in the process. Many thanks to Past Senator Doug Cunningham for his arrangement for Senator Schmidt to speak to our club. 4. Thanks for Dave Rosacker for the fine invocation and leading us in the pledge of allegiance 5. Treasurer Rita reported $8,267.47 in the bank balance, no doubt to change after the Golf Event on the 10th. 6. Jim announced the Lunch Bunch meeting was suspended for July. 7. I have no idea why I have numbered these notes as no one will ask about Note number 3 on July 17 bulletin??? 8. Futures speakers include Mike (yes, Diane's son) Clark on July 17 to dicuss disaster preparedness, on August 3 (need speaker), and on August 10 our favorite, friendly, recent former member, Jill Muegge will talk about her trip to Columbia South America. 9. For you members who have installed the Club Runner app on your smart phones, the app stopped updating a few weeks ago. Club Runner staff indicate that a fix is in the works, sometime. |
