Guest Speaker for Last Week

ADAM BROCKMEIER

Our speaker for the day was hosted by Rex Moats, who recently was treated at the Stodden Physical Therapy Clinic in Elkhorn.  Adam Brockmier D.P.T from the clinic spoke to our club on the process of DRY NEEDLING for pain relief.

Adam explained to us how the Dry Needling process works with some diagrams showing how the needle was inserted to relieve muscle cramps and spasms.  Location of essential trigger points can "reboot" the muscle to alleviate both the original problem area as well as secondary pain.  Often, pain relief can be achieved with a few treatments.

While both Acupuncture and Dry Needling involve needling, Dry Needling requires fewer needles.  The process is approved by the state and is eligible under most insurance plans and medicare.  Prescriptions are generally not   needed.

Sample needles were passed around for the group to see, however, there no volunteers for a trial needle insertions.
