President's Message

Greetings Rotarians!

This week's guest speaker will be Don Dravland, golf pro at The Pines, the host course for our annual golf outing.  This will be a great opportunity to meet Don in person and ask questions about how we can make our July fund-raiser as successful as possible.  Thanks again to Dave Rosacker for last week's presentation about the Ralston Granary ... I hope that everyone has had a chance to view the slide show that was shared.  Last week, Rita, Mike and I interviewed our Elkhorn scholarship finalists.  All students were exceptional candidates ... this year's award winners are Devynn de Velasco (Elkhorn High) and Alyssa Finch (Elkhorn South).  Jim, Neil and Steve are interviewing DC West students today and will be announcing their selection tomorrow.  Later today, I'll be sending out a Zoom link for anyone unable to attend tomorrow's meeting in person ... I hope that everyone can join us!

Thanks ... Tod

Meeting Minutes 4/7/21

Attendance: 14 Members (In-person), 1-Zoom (Judy) and 1-Guest (Larry Johansen)

Bank Balance: $4,207.25

District 5650:  Next year's club officers are encouraged to visit their training / information website.  Discussion occurred about a possible future Rotary Grant.  It has been suggested that we pursue a new projector for our speaker's presentations.  Since each grant comes with matching funds we would only have to fund 50% of the cost of a new unit.

Future Programs:  April 8 - Don Dravland (The Pines), April 15 - Jim Tomanek (COPE update), April 22 - Guy Jukes (Jukes Ale Works)

Fines: Neil continues to do a "fine" job of extracting funds from our members ... every little bit counts!

Speaker of The Day: Dave Rosacker.  Dave shared his presentation about the new Ralston Granary development.  The project involves multiple construction components on the site of the Bushwacker bar, including an event and performance area, multi-unit housing options, businesses, parking and a "green space" called the Granary Green.  The cost of the unique development is expected to be around $22 million and will be completed in phases.  After the meeting, Dave shared his slide show with all club members.
