PRESIDENT JUDY
Hello, Fellow Rotarians!
Going to District events is a great way to learn more about Rotary, meet other Rotarians, and re-connect with folks you know who are in Rotary.  The next Rotary Leadership Institute will be held at Dundee Presbyterian Church in Omaha October 6th.  I would really like to see at least one member of our club attend.  A testimonial from one attendee:  RLI was a great opportunity to explore Rotary – really learn about this vast organization.  This is the first time I truly understood that Rotary was not just about my Club – it extends beyond to other communities, states and the world.  I feel that I can truly help my club with programs now that I have participated in RLI.

On August 30th, our speaker will be talking to us about the Rotary Human Trafficking initiative to train hotel/motel workers on how to spot human trafficking.  Anyone interested in becoming trained to train motel/hotel workers is invited to attend the training on September 25th at 5pm.  This event will be held at the Red Cross Building in Council Bluffs.  There will be another training session in York on October 13th and one in Lincoln on October 27th.  By the way, the Rotary clubs in the York area have done more than any other clubs in our District to work on this issue.  With York being a crossroads of two major highways and home of several truck stops, it is a prime area for human trafficking.  Please consider getting involved!

NEIL'S PROGRAMS COMING UP
I have Tripp Sutter the Big 10 football referee will be the speaker on the August 23, and Judy has Jared Bakewell to talk about human trafficking on August 30th so we are set for August.
Jim Tomanek has  scheduled Rob King from St. Marks church in Valley to speak at Rotary on September 13th. Rob will show pictures and tell us about his mission trip to Tanzania. Jonathan Robitaille from the FBI will be our speaker on September 20th.  Jonathan has been with the FBI for nearly 20 years.  He will tell us about current issues in this area.  He has been on the FBI SWAT team for years.  We still need a speaker for September 6th.

Volunteer speaker arrangers are needed.
