Another great meeting last week, Rotary friends! Based on the questions asked of Brian Moon, I’m guessing there is interest in our club finding a project where we could utilize matching funds from the Rotary Foundation. I have asked Gail Stalder, as Club Foundation Chair, and Jim Tomanek, as Membership and Publicity Chair, to join me in as brain storming meeting to come up with several ideas for projects. If you would like to be included in this, please let me know. We haven’t yet set a date for our brain storming meeting. I’m waiting for Gail to return from his fishing trip. J
I received an email over the weekend about the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA). Since we supported some students last year, we will be talking about the April 2019 RYLA session at our meeting this week. Perhaps someone would like to be chair of a committee to make sure we have some Elkhorn and DC West students attend the next RYLA session.
Omaha West Rotary is having a Bloody Mary Jazz Fest on Nov 4th from 3-6pm. We would love to have Rotarians and Bloody Mary lovers attend. We have opportunities for bars to show off their bloody mary’s, sponsorships and ticket sales. The details can be found at .
We were led in prayer and pledge by Jim who used the opportunity to make a personal plea for divine intervention concerning his lottery ticket. That request has apparently gone unanswered as of the latest drawing.
We had 20 members present. No guests.
