Obviously, Abraham Lincoln was never a member of Rotary having died 40 years before Paul Harris founded the Club in 1905. However, few Americans have exemplified service and sacrifice more than Abraham Lincoln. February 12th, the birthday of Lincoln, will be observed by Rotary Clubs throughout the United States as a day honoring the principles that he fought and died for - equality and service.
