President's Message

Greetings Rotarians!

Our first order of business this week is to celebrate a very successful Golf Outing fund-raiser! A special thanks to Mike Ough for his many months of planning and coordinating the event and to all of those that volunteered, fielded teams or provided sponsorship donations.  As you all know, our annual golf outing is our primary fund-raiser for our four $1,500 scholarships for graduating seniors.  The success of our tournament also allows us to continue to support other Rotary projects throughout the year.

We will be back to our regular meeting schedule this week ... our guest speaker will be Trevor Longe, former teacher and coach and now a sports podcaster.  We will also have a preliminary financial update on our golf outing revenue.

Please make sure that you have paid your 2022-23 annual dues ($220).  Our dues are our primary means of funding our Rotary membership (International and District) and participating in various local charitable activities ... every single membership is critical to the ongoing success of our club!  If you would like to receive an emailed invoice, please let Dan Palmquist or me know.

I will be traveling during the first three weeks of August so I will need someone to "volunteer" to handle our meetings in my absence.  We also need speakers for those meetings (August 4th, 11th and 18th) ... please contact Neil or me ASAP.

Thanks!

Tod

This Day in History:
Beginning of World War I
Using the assassination of the Austrian archduke Francis Ferdinand as a pretext to present Serbia with an unacceptable ultimatum, Austria-Hungary declared war on the Slavic country on this day in 1914, sparking World War I.
