President's Message

President’s Comments ... No ZOOM connection this week (I’m on vacation) ... We hope to start having guest speakers as soon as possible.  Everyone give Neil some assistance so we can have some dynamic meetings, going forward.

Thanks,

Tod

SECRETARY REPORT
Below are the minutes from last week's meeting (August 13th)

WDC Rotary's in-person 7:00 AM meeting was held on August 13th, with 13 members in attendance and Judy Ackland joining us via ZOOM.   We also welcomed Raleigh Sheffield as a guest.

President Tod welcomed everyone to Common Ground, Dave again provided our Opening Prayer and all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Our weekly "round-robin" discussion enabled all new in-person members to share their personal update of activities since they were last able to join us.  It was great to get more of the gang back together again!

Treasurer's Report:  Account balance is $8,492.13.  The Pines Golf Course has been paid for the tournament.   The WDC Grant account balance is $1,520.

The club sends $50 per member each year to the Rotary Foundation and it was recently determined that we had not done so in 2019.  The motion was made to continue this practice and to send $100 for each member to cover both years.  Motion passed.

Membership / Scholarships: College info has been received from Graci Rittenhouse and payment was sent.

Back-Pack Donation:  $300 has been authorized for the annual "Backpack" fund raiser and Jim Tomanek is coordinating the purchase and delivery of the backpacks

Bike Grant: The police bike in honor of Ron Mortensen has been ordered and will be shipped when complete.  A presentation of the bike will be planned once the bike is received.

Golf Outing:  Net proceeds received came in at $5,748.  Great job again to Mike Ough for leading the effort and to all else that participated by playing, donating and volunteering.

Awards / Public Relations: No new report.

Meeting Presentation:  Treasurer Rita led a discussion on the Club's finances and budget for next year.   Thanks to Rita for your thorough report!

Fines: Neil collected several fines.

Other Business:  Now that we are back to in-person meetings, President Tod appealed to the club to find speakers for up-coming meetings.  Also, especially during the city's mask mandate, please wear a mask when entering and leaving Common Ground.

Next regular in-person meeting will be this Thursday, at Common Ground (7:00 AM - August 20th).
