 Greetings Rotarians! Thanks again to Rita for last week's great presentation about World Polio Awareness. It was inspiring to hear the stories about her family's experiences and of others that showed tremendous perseverance in their battle with polio. Thanks also to Jim for providing breakfast for the event. This week our guest speaker will be former Marine and current Elkhorn resident, Robert Koenig. Robert was featured in a WOWT-Channel 6 news story, highlighting his 140-mile walk in support of the refugees that are fleeing Afghanistan. See you Thursday ... Rita provided an in-depth, historical presentation on America's battle against polio, to include her own family's experiences and numerous challenges. Her personal perspectives, photos and videos emphasized how similar the polio epidemic was to the current COVID pandemic. Rotary continues to be the international leader in the global fight against polio. |
