President's Message

Greetings Rotarians!

After 10 days of travel to Colorado, the Black Hills and Lewis & Clark Lake, I'm ready to get back to full-time retirement!  Thanks to Mike for covering for me while I was gone.  Neil has coordinated several future speakers so continue to assist him in the process.  On Thursday morning I'll share some information from the District Governor's Zoom meeting, to include the great news of a "wild- polio-free" designation issued for Africa!   See you then!

Tod

SECRETARY REPORT
Below are the minutes from last week's meeting (August 20th)

WDC Rotary's in-person 7:00 AM meeting was held on August 20th, with 15 members in attendance.

Mike Ough was our "Substitute President" as Tod was enjoying some vacation time.  Mike welcomed everyone to Common Ground, Roger Bettman provided our Opening Prayer and all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasurer's Report:  Rita reported the account balance as $8,589.15.    The WDC Grant account balance was at #1,920 and counting.

Bike Grant: The police bike in honor of Ron Mortensen has been ordered and will be shipped when complete.  A presentation of the bike will be planned once the bike is received.

Awards / Public Relations: No new report.

Fines: Neil collected several fines.

Other Business:  Now that we are back to in-person meetings, President Tod appealed to the club to find speakers for up-coming meetings.  Also, especially during the city's mask mandate, please wear a mask when entering and leaving Common Ground.

Future Speakers:  We have a speaker TBA for 9/3;  A representative from Reichmuth Funeral Home will be speaking on 9/17;  Our annual meeting with NFL referee Tripp Sutter is scheduled for 9/24.

Next regular in-person meeting will be this Thursday, at Common Ground (7:00 AM - August 27th).
