Thank you to our fellow Rotarian and Elkhorn Public Schools Superintendent, Steve Baker, for speaking with us on Thursday, Sept. 22nd. Steve spoke about the current enrollment statistics of Elkhorn Public Schools, as well as growth projections and plans for future schools in the district. The Elkhorn district is 48 square miles and the schools are adding 1,000 students every 2 years in growth, and they have added seven schools in the last seven years. Steve confirmed that a third high school is in the future, and that the students who will attend that school are already in the EPS pipeline.
Congratulations to Steve on his upcoming retirement after 42 years of service in Elkhorn Public Schools, and 9 years as Superintendent. Thank you for all you have done for the schools and the community!
