Greetings Rotarians! Thanks to Dan for hosting our "field trip" to Main Street Studio Art Gallery last week ... it was a great event and I was personally amazed at Dave Biehl's skills as a sculptor of bronze works. I took several photos that I will share at one of our meetings. On a related note (from Dan), Tyler Curnes, the owner of Main Street Studio and a past speaker at our club, is currently in the hospital battling a rare autoimmune disorder, Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He is in a lot of pain and is currently on a ventilator.. He is a strong guy and there is great confidence that he can whip this, but please remember him with your prayers and good thoughts as he can sure use them right now. October is World Polio Awareness month and this week Rita will share information about her own experiences and Rotary's world-wide mission to eradicate polio. Last year our club donated $570 to the cause. I would like to see if we can top $600 this year ... all donations go directly to the polio fund. Jim Tomanek has volunteered to provide breakfast as part of the event (so everyone come hungry!). Thanks ... see you Thursday (bring your checkbooks!). Tod |
