 Greetings Rotarians! Congratulations to our Western Douglas County Rotary club! Through the unified efforts of every member, we were awarded a Rotary International Citation for 2021. Only a select few clubs received this honor and we are proud that we were one of those to be recognized. The first DC West Food Basket distribution was successfully completed last Wednesday ... thanks to all those that volunteered, especially those that helped transport the excess to COPE. COPE anticipates moving to their new location in November Social Events: None Scheduled Fines (Neil): Numerous fines were collected ... Speaker of the Day: Larry Bock, Former Superintendent of Blair Public Schools and Major League Baseball Scout. Larry retired from the school system when he was 60-years old and became a Major League Scout, working for the Mets, Tigers and Phillies. He evaluates player talent at all levels of baseball, starting with High School, American Legion and College, to include the Big-12 tourney in Oklahoma City, the American Legion and College World Series. Larry's passion for baseball is evident in his attention to detail and in the many stories that he shared. |
