I just talked to John D’arcy. He is a professional story teller and cartoonist. He said he could come on the 18^th. Sent him the information about our meeting, etc. He’s a very interesting character.

REPORT ON SCHOLARSHIP BANQUET - APR 11

Many thanks to Tod and his committee for selecting the finalists we honored at the Awards. Tod gave an excellent performance as MC and Bary's speech rocked the rafters.

Tod provided the following information:

Attached are a couple of photos from this morning’s WDC Rotary Scholarship breakfast. The students and their parents are as follows:

Quin Sexton (Elkhorn High) … Parents – Dennis & Kristi Sexton. Quin is going to UNO and will major in Music Performance and Music Education
Lucas O’Connor (DC West) … Parents – Mike & Denise O’Connor. Lucas is going to UNL and will major in Business and Marketing
Kelsey Zach (Elkhorn South) … Parents – Kenny & Donna Zach. Kelsey is going to UNL and will major in Education (emphasis in Special Education)

Have you registered for the District meeting yet? You don’t want to miss this! As I have mentioned before, Friday evening, attendees will have the option to enjoy a dinner cruise on the Belle of Brownville. Remember, the entire conference is a family event. We’ll all be able to help with a service project and there will be time to explore Nebraska City.

Two more Rotary events coming in July:

July 6^th is Playmakers Camp, a camp for youth. Rotarians are asked to help with this camp as mentors, playing games with the kids and as other support. Every member is expected to participate in at least one of the following:

1. Play in June 17 outing

2. Sign up four-member team

3. Volunteer to help June 17

4. Sponsor a $100 hole

5. Sign up a $100 hole sponsor

6. Provide an extra pin/raffle prize

Also, $20 raffle tickets will soon be give to each member to buy or sell.
