Below are the minutes from last week's meeting (August 27th) WDC Rotary's in-person 7:00 AM meeting was held on August 27th, with 14 members in attendance, plus Judy and our weekly guest, Larry Johansen joining us via ZOOM. Dave Rosacker provided our Opening Prayer and all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance. Treasurer's Report: Rita reported the account balance as $8,826.13. The WDC Grant account balance is at $2,070 which means that we've met our $2,000 goal for the Bike. District dues of approximately $900 are payable in September and Rotary International dues are payable in January (also approximately $900). Bike Grant: The police bike in honor of Ron Mortensen has been ordered and will ship sometime in October. A presentation of the bike will be planned once the bike is received. Awards / Public Relations: No new report. Scholarships: Next year's scholarship golf outing has been set for July 19th, 2021 ... mark your calendars! All scholarship money for this year has been paid to the student's schools ($4,500) Fines: Neil collected several fines. Other Business: President Tod again appealed to the club to find speakers for up-coming meetings and to wear your mask when entering and leaving Common Ground. The COPE / DC West Food Basket Drive will resume on September 9th at the DC West school (4:30 - 5:30). Jim Tomanek requested that club members assistance in the food distribution process and help deliver any excess amounts to COPE. Future Speakers: - September 10th Bary Habrock will provide a "back to school" update and discuss what the EPS District is doing in regard to COVID procedures, etc.
- September 17th, we will have a representative from Reichmuth Funeral Home. Rolly and Rita are bringing "breakfast and coffee" as part of their contribution to the day's speaker.
- September 24th, we will have our annual "meet and greet" with NFL referee Tripp Sutter ... don't miss it!
Next regular in-person meeting will be this Thursday, at Common Ground (7:00 AM - September 3rd).
