It’s time for the October Rotary lunch, we will be meeting on Wednesday, October 10th at noon at Shevys in downtown Elkhorn. Hope to see everyone there!
This past week, I entered our club goals on the Rotary web site. I also entered all of our service projects, both planned and finished. I would encourage everyone to go to myrotary.org and check it out. On this site, you can see statistics on our club, the district, and Rotary Global. A reminder that the All-Metro area Rotary Luncheon meeting will be held on Thursday October 4th at Anthony’s, Cost is $25. See the note on this page for more information.
Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation will have the dedication and ribbon cutting for their beautiful new building on Thursday, October 11th at 5:30. WDC members are welcome to attend.
Jim reminded the club to promote Rotary membership often. If you have any leads for membership, Jim will be glad to help with follow up to close the deal!
The club will decide next week on a date that we will, as a club, visit the Omaha Morning Rotary Cub for their Tuesday morning meeting at Happy Hollow CC, in an effort to return the favor from last week when they came in force to our meeting. We will not have a Thursday meeting on the week that is selected.

Presentation: Jim introduced Dr. Nathan Lauenstein. Dr. Nate is a chiropractor with a practice on Northwest Omaha. Dr. Nate shared some alarming statistics in regard to the continuing demise of the overall health in the U.S.
One of the main takeaways is the fact that each of us has the opportunity to change our health by eating well, exercising and thinking well.

Next meeting speaker (10/4): Ted Grace- ALTECH Builders; Next weeks meeting is about helping high school kids get involved in the building industry with hands on training. We will have 3 presenters Cliff Levitan, Mark Bowder and Ted Grace
Northwest Rotary invites Rotarians, family members and friends to attend a Movie Night for fun, fellowship and raising funds for PolioPlus. Movie Night will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. There will be a potluck dinner from 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Fried chicken will be provided and attendees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. The movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), will start at 6:30 p.m. after dinner. This fellowship event will be held at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 202 South 20th Street, in Omaha. There is a suggested $20 free will offering for PolioPlus. We will need reservations for planning. Please email Vickie Backman at nwrotary@cox.net for a reservation. A flyer is attached. We hope you will join us for Movie Night!
Our Rotary Club is scheduled to ring the Salvation Army Red Kettle bells at Family Fare grocery store on 204th & Pacific Street, November 19th, 20th, and 21st. I will have a sign up schedule to pass around at our meetings beginning November 1st.

Jill is going to come out on October 18th to tell us about the trip to Cuba she just took. I'm sure she will make it interesting. Not many people have been to Cuba. All of October is filled. Ted Grace for Oct 4th, District Governor for Oct 12, Jill for Oct 18 and Gail with a Rotary Foundation speaker for Oct 25.
