Northwest Rotary has received a thank you from the First Responders Foundation for the donation of $5,000.00 from the Omaha Northwest Rotary Foundation, Inc. for the Awards of Excellence program. The First Responders Foundation presents Awards of Excellence to deserving high school seniors who are children of first responders. These awards are given to students who demonstrate good character, balanced achievement, and outstanding commitment to the community. Part of the mission of the First Responders Foundation is to serve and honor all first responders and their families. The Foundation believes it takes a special person to become a first responder and their whole family shares in their service and sacrifice. This donation will support ten $500.00 scholarships for students graduating in 2020 with parents that are First Responders. PENDING EVENT - We will update everyone if we need to reschedule to a later date.
Metro Rotarians, family members and guests are invited to Movie Night on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. This will be a fellowship and PolioPlus fundraiser. The movie will start at 6:30 p.m. The family rated movie to be shown is FORD v FERRARI (2019). Movie Night will be held at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 202 South 20th Street. There is a suggested minimum of a $20 per person donation for PolioPlus (accepting cash, credit card or checks payable to The Rotary Foundation). Contact Vickie at nwrotary@cox.net for a reservation or sign up at a noon Northwest Rotary meeting. Hope you plan to join us for Movie Night!
Parking Information: Parking will be available in the garage on the lower three levels, which guests can get to via the alley off South 20th Street. (We need to make sure guests DO NOT park in the Douglas Street entrance, because we have no way to get them out of the upper levels.) The garage entrance will be open, and the theater is on the 3rd floor, but we will probably eat in the first floor small dining room.
