Our speaker has spent over 40 years on the front lines of law enforcement, crime prevention, and public
safety. Mark Langan built a decorated twenty-six-year career with the Omaha Police Department, where
he worked the seamier side of crime — infiltrating high-level narcotics operations undercover, posing as
both a drug user and a drug dealer, and supervising hundreds of high-risk investigations. His work earned
him the department's two highest honors: the Distinguished Service Medal and the Medal of Valor.
After retiring from the force, Mark launched a second career as Vice-President of Field Operations with
the Nebraska Humane Society, where he became a leading voice on animal cruelty investigations. He
now serves on the Nebraska Board of Parole. Along the way, Mark has given hundreds of media interviews and is a certified instructor in workplace
safety and active killer training. He is also an award-winning author of the Busting Bad Guys series — his
book More Busting Bad Guys was awarded the Gold Medal by Indie Book Publishers in 2023 for best true
crime book in the country. Mark is a nationally recognized speaker on crime, public safety, and animal cruelty, known for regaling
