Hello Fellow Rotarians!
Hope you all are doing well and keeping healthy!

Don't forget to buy or tell friends about our March Madness tickets, they also make great birthday, anniversary, customer appreciation and Valentines day gifts! $50 could get you $100-2,000 in prizes  every day in March! Our first Drawing and every Meijer Monday drawing will be done on Facebook and Zoom right before our Monday at Noon meeting, so you'll want to be included in the fun!

Room reservation deposits are now being accepted for D6400 Conference, please print your reservation form and send a check by March to reserve your spot, rooms assigned on a first come, first reserved basis.

We will have a different Zoom code for the State of the City Feb. 1, and it will also be on Facebook, Cable and Youtube.  I will send that out next week.

YIR,
Kathy Kane

I was born and raised in Utica, Michigan. From there I went on to Wayne State University to study Chemical Engineering and where I met my future wife Barb. I graduated in March of 1969 and hired on at Pennsalt in Wyandotte. We were married in August of 1969 and recently celebrated our 51st  anniversary. In October of ’69 I was drafted. In the Army I was trained as a Combat Engineer. They taught me how to build bridges and then blow them up. We spent the majority of my service time at Ft. Carson in Colorado.

I spent 31 years in the Chemical business as a Process Engineer and later a Technical Manager. I worked for Pennsalt, Pennwalt, Atochem N.A., Elf Atochem and finally ATOFina, all at the corner of Pennsylvania and Biddle, retiring in 2001.

In 2002, I completed my studies in the Parish Lay Specialist Program at Concordia, Ann Arbor. I was hired by St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trenton as Director of Outreach. After several years there I retired again but continued my work until Covid struck. I joined Rotary as a way to continue to help others.

Over the years we have lived in Detroit, Colorado Springs, Lincoln Park, Dearborn Heights, Allen Park and now Trenton since 2004. We have two children, a son and a daughter. Our son, his wife and three daughters live in North Carolina. Our daughter, her husband and son live down the street from us. Her three older children are grown and gone. We now have a great grandson who lives with his parents in Colorado.

Since 1980, I have been President, CFO and janitor of Wyandotte Stamps. During that time we have bought and sold millions of postage stamps to collectors.
