This is used once they are approved for award to collect information on them to use when giving the award!
This link is used to nominate someone for a peace link award.
Once an individual is nominated and receives an award, this is an opportunity to engage them and invite them to join Rotary!
The process is:
Nominate via link- or complete link if using paper form first.
Decide if an award to be made
Send letter to individual praising them and notifying them of award date
Send bio link to individual so you have info for award date
Award and take photo
Send Press Release to local media
Engage person about Rotary and encourage them to join
Gather information about their project and determine if there is a way to create a Rotary project of service or fellowship
Thank person for their service and for attending award ceremony!
Follow up in a month to see if person interested in joining Rotary:)

Meeting Notes – Tuesday, July 14, 2020

Goals
Current members: 75 – this excludes Rick Williams and includes Andrea Schotthoefer
Goal: 84 – 9 net new members (10% growth) – this includes engaging and retaining existing members while bringing on new engaged members
Discussion
Member engagement: We reviewed the club member list to determine who we haven’t seen or heard from and ways to keep them engaged during the COVID19 epidemic. The list totaled 24 members. Account balances are included on the list for informational purposes. Action plan: We will contact these Rotarians by phone and find out how they’re doing and if we can help them to be more engaged. Val is going to create talking points to share on the call. The list will be shared at the board meeting on Thursday, July 16th and can be divided amongst those willing to make phone calls.
Grow membership: We discussed how Peace Chain Nominees really appreciate receiving a Peace Chain award and as they learn more about Rotary and what we do, they may be interested in joining the club. Action Plan: We plan to make a list of Peace Chain Nominees and encourage other Rotarians to add to the list.
New member engagement: It’s important to get a new Rotarian involved and make them feel welcome in the club. The sponsor for that Rotarian should keep that new member engaged and a checklist could help them with ideas and guidelines to follow in order to do that. Action Plan: Provide the Trenton Rotarian New Member Checklist to each sponsor as a new member is inducted. This will help that sponsor to keep the new member engaged throughout their first year and make them more likely to get involved and stay in the club!
New member engagement: We discussed hosting a lunch every quarter to educate new members on the basics about Rotary, at the club level, the district level and the international level. We can answer any questions they may have, make them feel welcome and get to know them better. Action Plan: Schedule lunch or dinner meeting with new members in the first quarter of the Rotary year.
