June 29, 2015

Well, this Rotary year has come to a close.  It's time to officially hand off the gavel to our incoming president, Bob Howey.  I'd like to once again thank this year's Board of Directors for all their hard work and support during the last 12 months.  Thank you to Wes for serving as Past President at Large and sharing his experience with us.  Thanks to Ronnie, our Immediate Past President, for taking my calls, listening to my thoughts and offering her advice when I needed it!  I'd also like to thank Noel Jackson, our Assistant Governor this year for his guidance and his enthusiasm.  I appreciate the knowledge shared by PRID Mike McCullough and the many past presidents that offered their advice and assistance this year.  I certainly have to thank Chuck and Dee Howey , John Howey and the Howey Foundation for their contributions this year to help us accomplish our goals.  Thank you to all of our club members who helped in so many different ways that I don't have enough space to list them!  I want to officially thank my husband, Scott, for attending the events he could and supporting me in whatever I did this year...he's the best!  I look forward to Bob's year as president as I know he'll put his own touch on the Trenton Rotary Club and do an awesome job!

Thank you for allowing me to serve as your president this past year and helping me to Light Up Rotary!  It's something I'll always treasure and never forget.

Yours in Rotary,
Rose Angela

Grant Update
Grants have been written by our grant team for the next Rotary Year.  Thanks to Kyle Stack and Bill Jasman.  Grants must be submitted electronically to the District Grant Chair with the Trenton Rotary President's Signature.  This is how your foundation donations come back to our club to use to purchase coats for downriver's poor children and package meals with high school students to help solve the hunger crisis that still exists.  Thank you for your donations to the Rotary Foundation.

Foundation Minute for Week of June 29
“Rotary International’s masterpiece is The Rotary Foundation … it transforms our most daring dreams into the most splendid realities … the Rotary world and even the political world are already aware that The Rotary Foundation is the most generous expression of Rotarian generosity  - a generosity that not only brings benefits but also brings help and cooperation to solve the problems that affect mankind … only God achieves the impossible, but The Rotary Foundation achieves the best that mankind can possibly achieve.”  -- 1990-91 RI President Paulo V.C. Costa

This will be the my last Foundation minute as my 3- year term as Foundation Chair for District 7170 will end June 30th.  I am pleased to announce that Larry Denniston from the Rotary Club of Binghamton will continue the minutes.  Thank you.  Lana Rouff
