Beautiful News

Happy September to y’all!
As much as I hate to admit, Summer is on its way out and the Fall season is on its way in. I had the opportunity to rest this last weekend at a friend’s cabin up north in Kalkaska, Mi. I really enjoyed the opportunity to rest and take in the last days of Summer.
Gratefully, I now feel charged up for what this upcoming season has to offer.  I hope you will join in with me and so many other Rotarians as we amp up our serving and giving.
One of the upcoming changes will be with the Walmart project. We have been blessed with the opportunities of giving by using Bill Jasman’s home garage as our storage unit and giving location. But as many of you can see how difficult that can be week after week for an entire year for Bill.  So, I am so thankful to say that I have made a connection with a local storage facility, and they have offered up a very large unit to house the Walmart items and be the new distribution area at no charge to our club. I will be meeting with them this Tuesday to finalize the deal and announce that, hopefully by next week.  This Walmart project has helped numerous individuals and families. What a blessing Walmart has been, as well as so many of you that have helped in moving, storing, and distributing items.  God bless you all.

September 11, 2001-A moment to remember all that lost their lives 22 years ago today….
245 people went on flights, 2606 people went to work and 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, 8 paramedics, went on their shifts that day, never to return home.
This day shaped many of our days and years to come. We were kinder. We gave as much as we could. We cared. We loved. We mourned together as a nation. We became our very best. Let’s not forget to remember. I’m preaching to myself, to remember how much better I can be, then maybe someone I have been lately, so I can “Be the One” as Russ Jones, our Rotary 6400 District Governor, has asked us to be.  We can all be the One to make the difference. History has shown we have made a difference. Let’s continue to do that very thing.

Our “Honk Your Horn Monday Moment” goes to Tiffany Jones and Family!
Tiffany, who joined Rotary just over a year ago, joined our Board for 2023-2024 as assistant secretary, just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. As we see that Tiffany is adjusting to the schedule of a working wife, mother and volunteer, her plans remain to be active in our Rotary group. We know it takes courage to hold all these roles in life and we are so grateful to be a part of her journey.
Help me to congratulate their arrival of Ella Simone Jones- born August 6 at 12:12am weighting 5lbs 6 ounces!
